Paul E Russell, 66, of 1310 South Nineteenth, died unexpectedly of a heart
attack Saturday at Silver Spring, Colorado, where he and his wife were
visiting relatives. He had been in failing health two years. Born in
Cairo, Tippecanoe county, he spent most of his life in Battle Ground before
moving to this city eight years ago. He married Beatrice Zentmeyer in
Battle Ground in 1912. A self employed interior decorator, he was a member
of the Battle Ground Methodist church, a 32nd degree member of the Battle
Ground F and AM Lodge 313 and the Scottish Rite. Surviving with the widow
are three sons, Roy E of Battle Ground, Everett W and Glenn A of Lafayette;
and three daughters, Mrs William Doup, Columbus, Mrs Delbert Snow, New
Castle and Mrs Clarence Rausch, West Lafayette. Remains will be returned to
Lafayette for burial.

Battle Ground - Roy E Russell, 78, of 109 Main Street, died at 3:21 a.m.
Wednesday September 6, 2000, at Home hospital. He was born August 6, 1922,
in Tippecanoe county, where he was a lifelong resident and a 1940 Battle
Ground High School graduate. He worked for seven years at Lawrence Bowers
electric, worked 30 years as a self employed electrician and worked 10 years
as an electrician at Purdue University, retiring in 1985. On June 13, 1942,
he married Roberta M Fish and she died December 13, 1988. On August 25,
1989, he married Lillian I Bowlus and she died May 7, 1997. On September 1,
he married Katherine I LaFon and she survives. Mr Russell was an Army
veteran serving from October 1942 to December 1945 during World War II. He
served in the Asiatic Pacific Theater during the Central Burma and India
Burma battles and was awarded two Bronze Stars and the good conduct and
Victory medals. He was a member of first Assembly of God where he was an
usher and participated in 50 Plus Ministry . He also volunteered for
habitat for humanity and was a past member of the Battle Ground Town Boards.
Surviving are two sons, Ed Russell (wife Cheryl) of West Point and Fred
Russell (wife Sherri) of Lafayette; two daughters, Mary Pearson (husband
Bruce) of Norman, Oklahoma and Sherry Harmon (husband Oscar) of Lafayette,
three stepsons, David Bowlus (wife Edith); Mary LaFon and Kerwin LaFon (wife
Foxy) all of Lafayette; three step daughters, Barbara Beck (husband Duane)
of Frankfort, Laura Sheets (husband Robin) of Delphi and Denise Browning
(husband Ryan) of Lafayette; a brother, Glenn Russell of Florida and a
sister Velma Doup of Columbus.
Funeral Services: Calling 5-8 p.m. today at Soller-Baker Funeral Home, 400
Twyckenham Blvd. Services there 2 p.m. Saturday, Pastor Gregory Hackett
officiating. Burial at Battle Ground Cemetery. Surviving are 9
grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren, 12 step-grandchildren and 9 step-
great grandchildren. Preceded in death by his parents Paul & Beatrice
Zentmeyer Russell, 3 sisters and 3 brothers. Memorials to the American Heart

Am looking for any information on this family.
I think Roy is buried in the Battle Gound Cemetery since he lived in Battle
Ground IN.
