Adam B. Hendrickson married Elizabeth Wood in DeWitt County, IL, on March 11, 1854. Adam was born in Marion, Monroe County, Indiana, abt 1834. When his family went west, Adam stayed behind. I don't really know the ancestry of Elizabeth Wood, but in 1860, Adam and Elizabeth were living in Vigo County with a George D. Wood, aged 32, and his children Margaret E, 5, James R, 3, and Emma E. Wood, aged 1. I assume this George D. Wood was Elizabeth's brother. He looks like he was recently widowed, and called on his sister to come help with the children. Other people lived in the household by the name of William and Charles Faith, and another young woman by the name of Elizabeth Christopher. By 1870, Adam and Elizabeth were living in Vermillion County, Clinton TWP, where he was teaching school. It doesn't appear that he and Elizabeth had any children of their own. By 1880, Elizabeth had either died or she and Adam divorced. Adam was back in Vigo County, Indiana, with a new wife Sar!
ah J., and a son Thomas D. Hendrickson, born abt 1876.
Now here's my question: Did Adam and Sarah J. stay in Vigo County after 1880, and did they have more children together?
Can anyone help with information on this couple? Any descendants of Adam Hendrickson and Sarah J. Unknown???
