Thanks Don for the insite. I do wish that more states had something like
Minnesota has for death index. Hopefully one day they will do this. Yes, I think
a campaign would be a good idea.

All we want is a list of the people who are in the death records file. Even
the Minnesota list is not conclusive unless you order to certificate to see if
it is your relative.

I recently did a search for one of my great grandmothers. There were three
with the same names but from three different counties. Two of these had the
same death year. Well, I ordered one and it was not her so now am ordering the
other. So, the state of Iowa would still get the business of receiving money
for the certificates and not have to search because the order includes the
document number. I would think it would be to some benefit.

There are many people who don't use the death registry for the reason it is
not accessible online and go about their seaching by other means. I know that I
would not have sent for the certificate if I hadn't found it online.
