Carlin
Wednesday afternoon at 1:30 o'clock at the residence 1553 Leonard street,
occurred the death of Mrs. Jane Carlin at the age of 80 years, the cause of
death being old age.
Deceased was born in County Tyrone, Ireland, and she has made her home in
this city for the past forty years. She is survived by five children, Mrs.
Cantine, W.P. Carlin, contractor; James A. Carlin, of Valaird, Minn; Mary E.
Carlin and M.F. Carlin of De Witt.
The funeral will be held from residence with service at Holy Family chapel
at 9 o'clock Saturday morning. Interment will be at Holy Family cemetery.

Harrigan
Yesterday morning at 11:45 o'clock at Mercy hospital occurred the death of
William Harrigan at the age of 80 years.
On Feb. 8, 1899 he was stricken with paralysis and has never been well
since. Two months ago he was removed to the hospital. Deceased was born in
Ireland March 5, 1821, and came to America in 1852. He first landed at New
Orleans and later moved to this city where he has resided ever since.
He was married Feb. 10, 1857, to Miss Mary Mahoney by Rev. Father
Pelamourges, his wife surviving him with four children, John, Dennis J.,
Josephine and Sister Mary Regina of Mercy hospital who was with him at the time
of death. He also leaves one sister, Mrs. Mary Foley of Trinidad, Columbia.
The funeral will occur Thursday morning from the family residence, 324 East
Seventeenth street, with services at 9 o'clock at Sacred Heart cathedral and
interment in St. Marguerite's cemetery.

RYAN
Yesterday morning at 6 o'clock at the residence of her son, Rev. James P.
Ryan, pastor of St. Mary's church, occurred the death of Mrs. Winifred Ryan,
aged 87 years. For the past three years Mrs. Ryan has been a constant sufferer
with rheumatism, yet she was not confined to her room and on Sunday she appeared
to be in her usual health and attended church services. At an early hour
yesterday morning she began growing weaker until the hour above named when she
breathed her last.
The deceased was born Nov. 3, 1805 in County Tipperary, Ireland. In 1831 she
was united in marriage with Phillip Ryan and in 1848 they came to the United
States, settling in Muscatine county two years later. Mrs. Ryan came to
Davenport in 1899, since which time she has made many warm friends. She leaves
four children, Rev. James P., Peter, Dennis, and Thomas, the two latter living
on farms, one near Muscatine and the other near Wilton.
Mrs. Ryan was a good woman and a devout member of the Roman Catholic church.
The funeral services will be held Wednesday morning at 9 o'clock in St.
Mary's church, after which the remains will be taken to Muscatine, where her
husband is buried.
