Peter J. COLEMAN d 19 Jul 1963 Vienna, Va. He was 80 a former printer for
the Scranton Tribune and the Scrantonian. He had resided in Scranton for 45
years before moving to Virginia in 1952 retiring after 49 years. His wife the
former Nellie CURRAN CORBETT of Wilkes Barre died in 1959. He was a member of
the Church of Nativity, Scranton. He came to the US with his mother Winifred
COLEMAN and siblings in 1895. He was born in Knockmore, Backs Parish County
Mayo. He had lived in Butte, Montana for 2 years before returning to Scranton.
He was married in St.Leo Church Ashley in 1910. The union was blessed with 4
daughters 3 of which survived. Mrs Robert SULLIVAN, Union City, NJ; Mrs
Robert E. ADAMS, Mayo, MD and Mrs Paul B. FISSEL, Arlington, VA. (His siblings
Mary COLEMAN m Martin WADE; Jane COLEMAN m Andrew MCHUGH of Butte,MT; David
COLEMAN m Bridget GILLIAN and Catherine BROGAN; Ann COLEMAN m Joseph GRAY ;Agnes
COLEMAN m Richard JORDAN and Joseph GRAY; Minnie COLEMAN m Oscar RITTER.)
Peter J. COLEMAN is my grandfather and I am interested in any information and or
connections regarding my maternal COLEMAN line. The family lived primarily
in the Coolcran, Friarstown area of Co Mayo)

My grandfather Peter J. COLEMAN parents were John COLEMAN 1828-1888 from
Friarstown who married Winifred COLEMAN 1841 Coolcran d 1909 Scranton PA.
Winifred parents were Patrick COLEMAN b 1803 Coolcran d 1895 Friarstown married
Bridget MELVIN b 1803 Clooniolla d 1889 Coolcran. Do not have any information
on John COLEMAN parents or siblings. Think Bridget MELVIN parents were Martin
MELVIN and Jane HOLMES
