Hello Susan,

I am wondering what you mean by an Obit, an Obit can cover a death notice,
which has been explained in a previous email, or an Obit does give a few
words about a persons life, I am afraid I once believed that you had to be
of some higher class to get such a thing in Ireland, but I have begun to
notice that Obits were printed in newspapers as early as 1845-54 so
therefore that myth has now fallen by the wayside.

But Dundalk Co Louth you would need to be looking at what local newspapers
were being printed for the town itself where your Patrick McArdle died, and
that I cannot name for you, at this moment in time itself.
