To those who are just starting their personal reseach in Ireland, don't
forget a staple of all reseach, ie the county courthouse. Arrive early
and find the right place to ask for information, (something like the
county clerk office or a designated place). All over the world, these
people who work very hard, are extremely helpful. Don't come in with
just a name, but as much specific information as to what you have. They
will help you. Just remember to arrive at opening and you might have
some luck Most Irish records especially if the individuals that you are
searching are Roman Catholic are really not reliably recorded until
after 1860 except in taxation records. A wise website administrator
once wrote when asked about the Irish peasantry and not the just the
English residents being recorded, said wisely that if your Irish tenants
were not recorded for their deeds or misdeeds, then they are lost in the
sands of time. You cant find what is not recorded.

We didn't sleep well on our overnight flight from Newark. Two older Irish ladies who sat behind my daughter and I chatted all night long! They ignored our glances and I didn't want to be mean. so we probably looked pretty awful~!.

I had pre-arranged the rental through my travel agency, so they verified the reservation at the inside counter (Hertz) and then directed me to a shuttle out front to go over to their lot and outbuilding where I actually reviewed the vehicle selection, signed the contract and picked up the car. Very easy.
