Hello List

this is my first posting and most likely a very long shot to find some info
but here goes.

My ggg grandfather was Miachel Mc Shane born 1768 in Ireland. He and his
brother Hugh were transported to Tasmania aboard the Minvera 1 which sailed
from Cork on 22 December 1817.

I was hoping that some knowledegable lister might be able to give me some
sort of clue as to where the McShane name might have been common around that
time give they were transported from Cork.
