I'm responding to the information kindly sent to the IRISH-AMERICAN &
IRELAND Groups by Jean Rice. I've listed below further sites which may
be of interest to anyone researching this area, a distant relative of
mine was one of the Overseers, a William J McCully. I have a 1880
Census Listing for New York [Manhattan] of the names of children, on
that day and time, who were resident and being cared for by William J
McCully and his wife, Hannah Johnston. William J McCully finally
settled in Clay Co, Kansas where he continued to act as an Overseer for
the Childrens Aid Society and the "orphan Train".
