Looking for records in Ireland for 1749 era is extremely hard, as it is
in the USA. They only had church records at the time and many have not
survived the time. You are fortunate to know exactly where your
ancestor was born but if you ever get to Ireland, you might try the
Limerick County Library in Limerick City. They have good resources and
someone there might be able to point you in the right direction. Here

Also, you might try joining the Limerick mailing list. There are people
on the list from Limerick and they might be able to give you advice.
