I have on loan from my mother an old photo album; some I have determined are
actually inherited from my great-grandmother's cousin, Fitzgerald Murphy, a
popular actor, playwright, and political activist from the 1880's until his
death in 1907 at the age of 37. One name in particular I can decipher, that
of F. J. HANLEY. I have pictures of him from Washington, Philadelphia,
Chicago, and a postcard from I don't know where. Since he was a friend of
my cousin, and he obviously traveled quite a bit, it may be assumed he was
involved in the theater in some way. These photos all date from the late
1880's to the 1990's; and possibly the first decade of the 20th century. I
would love to share these photos with someone interested in this man. Is
there someone out there who is researching the Hanley name, or who may want
to store these pictures on their website?
