Subject: [IRISH-FAMINE] Names Carroll, Clint, McDonald
Date: Fri, 02 Jun 2000 20:09:23 BST

I am researching the following names
My greatgrandfather Patrick Carroll was born in 1846 and could have been
from Armagh or Sligo and moved over to Jarrow sometime before 1872.
Another possible link is an Owen Carroll born 1811 in Co Armagh who married
a Catherina (born 1811 in Co Louth) they had a child Matthew in 1839 born in
Armagh and I believe they may possibly be the above Patrick Carrolls parents
to. this family appear on the 1881 census of Consett, Durham England.
My greatgrandfather Thomas McDonald was born in Ireland in 1857 and married
Ann Clint born 1857. they moved over to Maryport Cumbria before 1878 and
then to Jarrow, England.
Could anyone point me in the direction of tracing where and when they came
from Ireland?
Sorry, very sketchy

Catherine McDonald
