Dear Peggy:

Hamilton and Scott are Scottish surnames.
You might take a look for Scots-Irish roots,
otherwise known as "Ulster Scots."

Check for them coming from Ulster area.
County Down, Antrim, Derry and the Northeast of
Ireland. The Plantations. Many of the Scots Irish
came from Ireland to Pennsylvania.

You might check for Presbytarian Church records
or Masonic Order membership.

Have you been able to find anything in Census or
Land Records?

Have you looked to Ships records?

Do you know where they lived in Pennsylvania?

Slainte!

Lauren
