I ordered a microfilm of the New York City "Irish-American" newspaper. After
a month & a half, it's finally in! I'll only have it for a few days. I plan
to transcribe as much as possible from the editions.
The years covered on the microfilm are 1849-1857 and 1878-1915. What I want
to do is get a general idea of what years are the most pressing to everyone.
Please contact me off-list and let me know what years you're interested in.
I will then determine from the responses which years to attack first. (ie:
if the majority of people request the 1870s, then I'll go for that.)
The "Irish-American" lists death notices in NYC & Ireland, and (I believe)
marriage announcements.
I hope this made some sense.
Take care,
Tracy
