I have copies of probate wills, in them it states the date of death. They
are easy to get by going to the Surrogates court where they were filed. Some of
the probate wills that I have are dated a month after death, some were filed
right away. Depending on whether they were disputed by others, some probate
wills went on the court calender over a period of months, until settled.
