The Family History Library has a set of 170 microfilms titled _Master card file index to Kings County, New York probate records, 1789-1971_. They're arranged alphabetically by surname. For example, the film number for surnames between S and Saluzzi is 541738.

Has anyone had experience with these films?

Do they give identification information for probate files/packets?

Would that info. be sufficient to avoid the large search fee?
