Wrdsrus,
I hate to be vague, but it depends on the center.
Each center is in the 'complex' for that local LDS community.
Depending on its size, the amount of equipment they have may vary greatly.
I've visited 4 locations. One, in NYC, was big and had lots of 'stuff'.
Three in NJ varied. Two were what I would call medium, and one quite small.
Some places have at least one film viewer with printer capabilities to
make hard copies.
The small one I visited did not. The options there were to
write/transcribe what you found, or attempt to capture the image with
a digital camera. That was awhile ago, so with these newer flash
drives, I don't know if that would be a possibility. Download to the
drive as an image, take it home and print there.(?)
And, remember, the volunteers aren't there to try to convert you ....
they will help you with finding films appropriate for your research.
The only real fees are the 'rentals' for the films. (and copies, if
that's an option).
I'm not LDS, but I am grateful they make this access available to us all.
Hope this helps,
Maureen in NJ
