Hi Patricia,

I have checked the Surname interests of the Liverpool and South West Lancashire FHS and there are no McQueens listed (I am a member). I couldn't tell you about Cheshire as I am not a member (my family connection with Cheshire was a very brief passing through Birkenhead to Glasgow in the mid to late 1860s). Perhaps you could look on the county pages on GENUKI if you haven't already tried - I found this site by looking on the GENUKI County page for Lanarkshire.

Sean

Hi I am new to this site as well. I found my ancestors McQueen from NI living in
Galloway Scotland 1841 1851 censuses. Thereafter, they migrated to Liverpool for
work of course. They apparently stayed there since 1861 in Liverpool originally in
the workhouse. then married had grandchildren there, last child born there William
McQueen m. Eliz. Duvall 1879. I cant trace any of their descendants except my own
line James b. 1848 Mochrum, Wigtown,Scotland my g/grandfather had 3 sons Thos.Owen
Albert and James. James my line his son became my grandfather when he migrated to
Dublin, Ireland married Bridget Willdridge McCann there had my Dad John McQueen
and where I was born. Now living in California doing some genealogy with some success.
My maiden name Pat McQueen now Pat Rosset, my husband is Swiss and so it goes.
Would like to get in touch with some living McQueens in that area, Liverpool or Cheshire.
descendants of Albert, Thos.Owen or Frederick W. I think the Owen wss there father,
born Ireland 1815 migrated to Galloway, married Copeland there and the family moved
south to Liverpool. Cheers, Patricia
