Hi David
Looking for my WALLACE family in Antrim town I found the following on
headstones in Muckamore graveyard, just outside the town of Antrim. The
following may or may not be of use to you? I haven't had time to go back
over old church records to see if they connect to my WALLACE family but the
close proximity of the 2 towns and toing and froing to work may lead to a
connection when I get time later this year to go back over to Ireland to
follow everything up. The Bleach Greens were at Muckamore and the Linen
factory in Antrim.
James WALLACE (b1761 - 7/5/1833) m Annie BARKLIE (b1780 - 3/4/1862)
Children;
Anna M WALLACE died 30/1/1872
Elizabeth WALLACE died 28/2/1822
John Barklie WALLACE born 1814 (youngest son) died NEW ORLEANS 18/6/1855
Anna Barklie WALLACE b1847 died 28/10/1849
Sarah Todd WALLACE b 10/1849 died 23/2/1852
Henry J WALLACE 1838 - 7/2/1858 his father was grandson James
I thought the different spelling of Barclay may be of interest and that one
of the sons at least emigrated to America and died there. You may be able
to track down more info to see if there is a link to your
BARCLAY/BARKLIE/BARTLEY
I would be interested in any info on the WALLACE/FLEMING connections you
have as they are also Antrim names and Flemings are in my tree too.
Regards Pam

Gordon,
I know that we're all besieging you with requests these days, but would you
know anything of Barclay/Bartley emigration from Antrim around 1800?
William John, the father, and sons, Robert, James and Thomas, and possible
nieces, Sarah and Elizabeth, may have been living in Lisnahilt, Antrim,
maybe Mulindreen, in the late 1700s and then suddenly left, for an as yet
unknown reason. I believe that they may not all have gone together. The
nieces were probably accompanying their husbands, Robert Wallace and William
Fleming, respectively.
Thanks,
David
