Cathy: Sorry I didn't answer right away. My records are from a printout from
the Catholic priest in Kilronan given to Stevie Kilmartin (still resides in
Kilronan). I can find no record of a John Kilmartin except as baptismal
sponsor. I am surprised that in my g-mother's family (Bryan Kilmartin &
Winifred O'Donnell) there was not a John.
I need to look at the Griffith's Eval. for County Clare in 1855. It shows 3
Bryan's 2 Michael's in PLU Ennistimon, 2 Patrick's in another parish. I am
concentrating on the west of Clare nearest Aran. It seems that Aran was not
as heavily affected by the famine as the mainland.
