Carlow Listers,
I have been reading a book entitled "Irish Emigration and Canadian
Settlement: Patterns, Links & Letters", by Cecil J. Houston and William J.
Smyth, published in 1990 by the University of Toronto Press. The authors
make reference to a general Protestant migration in 1818-19. This migration
drew from an area in the shape of a triangle, including the southern 3/4 of
County Carlow, the southern tip of County Wicklow and the north-west of
County Wexford. It was simply referred to as "Carlow Protestants, 1818-19"

The authors do not give specific details concerning this migration. Does
anyone on the list know who organized this migration? Is there a list of
the emigrants? Any suggestions as to where information could be found
concerning this subject would be most appreciated.

Cheers,
