Hi everyone,

I'm researching a Morphet family from Leighlinbridge, Carlow

Patrick Morphet c.1820 - Parents: John & Sarah Morphet

Patrick Morphet sailed to Victoria, Australia aboard the STRATHFIELDSAYE (as an assisted passenger) arriving 30 August 1841 in Port
Phillip, Victoria. The ship sailed from Plymouth, England.

Patrick MORPHET married Ellen JONES in Victoria, Australia 1849.

Ellen Jones - c.1832 Aston Rowant, Oxford Eng. - Christened "Helen"
Parents: John Jones & Alice Mott m.1824 Stone, Buckingham Eng.

Patrick & Ellen Morphet had 14 children in Victoria, Australia. Some of the children's births were registered under MOFFAT instead of
MORPHET.

Patrick Morphet died Caulfield, Victoria, Australia, 1896, aged 75.

I have searched the LDS IGI, and cannot find any Morphets in the whole of Ireland! Only a few Moffats.

Would love to hear from anyone researching the Morphet/Moffat surname in Carlow.
