I am sorry but I have no idea but (I always thought) that he was buried in
Carlow. I posted the information on the message board re Bishop James
Warren Doyle from information found in the History of the Warren Family
written by Rev. Thomas Warren in 1902. Someone on that board (not this one)
was researching him. Personally we do not share a common ancestor with him
in the 1700's or 1800's but possibly as he hailed from Warren's from
Carlow/Wexford then maybe in the 1600's. Warren which is a Norman name have
been in Ireland since the time of Strongbox.
I'm sure that possibly someone else on the list with local knowledge may be
able to tell you more about him.
Good luck
Susie Warren

certificates of 2 family members from St. Joseph's Catholic Church, New
Orleans, LA, the officiating priest is Rev. James W. Doyle. I personally
have not made a family connection, but am curious. The Rev. Doyle has been
found in the Orleans death index of 1878. He was 40 years old putting his
birth year at Abt 1838. New Orleans suffered with yellow fever in 1878 and
many people were stricken. His place of birth is unknown, however my family
members state that they are from County Carlow, Ireland. I have not been
able to find any information on the Rev. Doyle and when I came across your
posting, I thought that maybe you would have an idea...

Bishop, but your posting is the first I find in the genealogy postings; I
find it interesting! If this interests you, I am willing to do some
research in the New Orleans area...
