Thank you Mary Lorraine for your suggestions.

Thank You also to all the people who have email me today with their support
and suggestions about the CGP (Carlow Genealogy Project). One or two have
offered your help in researching records in Ireland and I am sure there will
be people who will take up your offer. I don't have a problem with that and
if people are willing to pay that's fine also but please do ask for
references before you part with any money for a search service and establish
exactly what you are going to get for your money.

My concern is not about the research of records, but about the fact that the
CGP is asking for money on the internet to carry out research when the CGP
is actually not operating. If people are sending money, where is it going?
There are loads of sites advertising a research service and all of them
direct you to contact CGP. Why are these website still offering this
service and why haven't they been shut down.

I would strongly suggest that anyone who has a link on their website to the
'Carlow Research Centre' that they remove it immediately until we get to the
bottom of what is going on and who is responsible for this mess.

The fact that money is being asked for a service which doesn't exist is
illegal anyway and I am sure you didn't need me to tell you that but there
are a lot of very vulnerable people out there who will believe that this is
a genuine service only to find out when its too late that they have been
ripped off.

Regards

Michael
