Michael,
My thanks also to the lister who took all that time to transcribe the RC
parish at Clonegal and offer them to the list - what a gift!!!!!
I was able to follow the names in the family over the years to see that
those names eventually died out in the town where they lived - and to see the few
family surnames left by the beginning of the 1900s. - whether due to many
females in the family or families moving elsewhere.
I did find 3 of my ggrandmother's siblings in the records; I had paid the
Carlow Heritage Society to find the records in 2000. They found the 3 siblings
listed in these newly posted records; they were unable to find any record of
my ggrandmother. Unfortunately I am still unable to find my
greatgrandmother's baptism recorded anywhere. Her birth was about 13 years after the
others; I believe my ggreatgrandmother may have died and my ggreatgrandfather may
have remarried - and moved.
The baptism record I am still looking for:
Sarah Hickey - born 26 January 1855 - presumably
somewhere in Carlow.
Her parents: John Hickey and Catherine Kehoe. They lived in
Kilbride, Clonegal RC parish between 1837 and 1842, where 3 of Sarah's
siblings were born
between these years.
Any help from anyone on the list would be greatly appreciated. This brick
wall just won't go away.
