Hi folks

I am new to the list, and hopefully on the right one.

I recently located a death certificate in Sydney Australia for a JOHN NORMAN STEWART. It states on this certificate that he was born in Lindardstown Ireland. I am now presuming this should read Linkardstown. (Is this in County Carlow?)

JOHN's parents were JOSEPH STEWART and ANN COUTTS from Aberdeenshire Scotland. I know this family were still in Scotland in 1866 (this is the birthdate of the past child there). Somewhere between 1866 and 1874 (JOHN NORMAN's approximate birthdate) they moved to Ireland.

I realise there are no census for Ireland during this period, however I was wondering if some kind person on the list could point me in the direction of other records which may/may not confirm that this family were in Ireland around this timeframe.

Joseph Stewart's occupation in Scotland was farmer.

Any help would be most appreciated.
