Sylvia,
There was a Kilcoole (translated means St. Comgall's Church) in
Gilbertstown Civil Parish, Barony of Forth.

Subject: [IRL-CARLOW] Jacob Ireton
I have been looking for any information about the Irish roots of Jacob
Ireton (b. Ireland abt. 1808) and his wife Ann Lee (b. Ireland abt.1813)
as
well as for their children;
Thomas b. abt. 1834 (probably b. Co. Wicklow)
Mary b. abt. 1835
Annie b. abt. 1836
William b. abt. 1851
They were Protestant (in Canada anyway), emigrated from Kilcoole Place
(which no one seems to have heard of) County Carlow to North America
abt.
1842 and eventually settled in West Gwillimbury Township, Simcoe County,
Ontario where Jacob farmed. Thomas became a blacksmith and moved to
Grey
County, Ontario. Mary married John Glassford and moved to Hamilton,
Ontario. Annie married James McCallum and moved to Michigan. William is
said
to have died as a young man.
Thanks to some kind and generous folks I do have information regarding
the
family tree after their immigration to Canada (with the exception of
William's death).
I would appreciate any information regarding their Irish roots.
Thanks,
Sylvia
