My replies to your emails are not getting through. They keep bouncing back with an error message.

I will leave my reply on the Carlow List in the hope that you can pick it up from there:

Clonmullen Castle, Carlow located about 1 and a quarter mile west of =
Bunclody (Co. Wexford). As you travel north through Bunclody on the N80 =
towards Kildavin there is a small By-road off to the left just after you =
cross the River Clody which takes you to Clonmullen. There is no =
reference on the OS map to the castle apart from a Ringforth nearby the =
village.

See OS Discovery Series Maps of Ireland and the reference can be found =
at: http://www.rootsweb.com/~irlcar2/county_carlow_townlands5.htm

Dear Michael

I am hoping you might be able to help me. "The Castles of County Carlow"at http://www.rootsweb.com/~irlcar2/castles_of_carlow.htm mentions a Clonmullen Castle and that it was granted to James Hamilton by James 1. I understand that it was raised by Oliver Cromwell. I am researching the Hamilton family history.

I only have access to internet maps of Ireland and hope that you can give me an indication of where it was located. i.e. x km from a place and y km from another place, to give me an approximate area.

Best wishes

John Boyle
