Hi Gary - Altho you've probably thought of all this, here goes:

Two questions about 'Falbow." Is it spoken information about the family
spending time there? Or written?

If spoken, I'd look for anything that sounds remotely like 'fal' + 'bow.'
However, is that fal as in Al, or fal as in Fall? Which vowel sound? And,
is that bow as in bow-tie or bow as in a curtsey? You could look for any 2
syllable town that rhymed with those two sounds.

F could be PH, of course, in a list of townlands. Also, if spoken, that F
could be anything: for example, S, TH, etc.

If your family info was written information, how was it spelled?

And a 3rd question, is there anyway to know (speculate) if this townland
could have been on a border?
