Hi Gail,

One further thing that you might find quite helpful is to take a look at the land books (or ask someone to take a look at them for you). These are held by the Valuation Office in Dublin (http://www.valoff.ie/Genealogy.htm). They document any changes in land ownership and in the size / usage / value of the land or buildings themselves. If you know the reference for where they lived in Griffith's, then you can use these books to work out how property's ownership changed from the 1850s up to the present day. They can provide some useful clues as to when people may have moved away, died etc.

Hope this helps,

Rachel

Hi JJ,

This the third email...sorry. I now see how you have
determined Paul leasing from Michael Jeffers. I was
reading across rather than down. In March 1860
Michael Jeffers was replaced by William Jeffers.

I am still interested in the date(s) you are looking
at as the earliest I have is 1860.

Mahalo!

Gail
