Cavan is in Ulster - as such and even though there are only 6 counties of
the nine Irish Ulster counties which are British..........most of the Ulster
counties will have information related to them listed on web sites relating
to Britain.........for example.....I'm sure that there are Cavan records re
estates listed with the British PRONI which are not kept in the Irish NAI
(our public records nowadays) the same way as I will find that records for
Monaghan estates are heldf by PRONI but not by the NAI.

We find information on counties that are part of the Replublic of Ireland -
but which are also in Ulster stored in the PRONI but with no copies in
Dublin's NAI. We find information on townlands in all Ulster counties,
regardless of whether or not they belolng to the Republic of Ireland stored
in the PRONI but not in the NAI........

a conundrum for researchers.

So, whoever suggested that you should link to some British Village or county
web site probably knows that there is information on that site relating to
county Cavan which is in the Republic of Ireland and also part of teh
Province of Ulster and six of the nine counties in that province belong to
Britain - therefore a British village or town.

There are no cities in Cavan. Cavan has towns. Ireland has only a few
cities

If you want great Cavan sites - the the first you should create links to are
the Genuki and Ireland Genealogy Project project sites from your own site
Cavan GenWeb Site - if you haven't already.

I fail to realise why every genealogical project doesn't carry a link to all
the other genealogical project sites.

Copmpetition?

That would be good for researchers who have no hand or part to play in the
creation of any county web site.

I carry a link to each county project on my Cavan page, as I do or will for
each of my county pages. These county projects should be the first place
that any county researcher should know about - but they should know that
there are a minimum of three for any county.
