Hi Helen,

I have very little information on my Reilly family. My GG grandmother Jane
REILLY was born about 1824 in County Cavan. She immigrated to New York where
she married my GG Grandfather Stephen HALL who was born about 1806 in
Yorkshire England. This was Stephen's second marriage according to his death
certificate.

Stephen and Jane married in July 1851 in New York and had two sons George
Theodore Holmes HALL born about 1853 (possibly in New York) and William
Henry HALL (G Grandfather) born 1855 in Sonora California. Stephen and Jane
immigrated to Sydney Australia in 1857 and had another two children.

Jane's death certificate has her father listed as Reilly no Christian name
and farmer as his occupation. On her son James Shackleton HALL birth
certificate, it states Jane REILLY born on County Cavan but no town.

With both names being common, it is like a needle in a haystack. Jane is
currently my only Irish connection.

Elizabeth
