Hi Diana,

I don't know if you query was directed to me, but I have put a note on
re McNaught recently. I am interested in the evolution of the name from
McConnor to McNaugher to McNaught/McNaughton and it now seems McNitt. It
is not the Scottish McNaught. McConnor is an ancient Irish name.

However in my searching I found William McNUTT married to Catherine HAYS
9 December 1858 Carrigart, Mevagh. They had five recorded children born
between 1860 and 1866 one born at Rosguill and another Creevy. If you
want anything further contact me off list.

Cheers,

MAGGIE
