Hello,

I have found a clue that leads me to believe that my Dennis Boyce b. 1805 in Ireland; d. 1887 in Ohio, USA; m. Hannah Sweeney about 1840, may have come from County Donegal. Their children that I know of so far are:
Daniel b. 1842,
James b. 1845,
Jennie b. 1860,
Eunice b. either 1859 or 1861.
All were born in Ireland.

I believe they immigrated to the USA in 1866. The brothers were naturalized in Ironton, OH in 1879.

Daniel b. 1842 in Ireland; d. 1903 in Ohio; m. Katherine O'Keefe.

Their son, James Boyce b. 1845 in Ireland; d. unknown; m. Hannah Sweeney 1876 in Ohio. Hannay Sweeney was born December 25, 1856 in Tullyconnell, Co. Donegal, Ireland (according to her immigration papers in Ironton, Lawrence County, Ohio)

In the 1910 census of Ohio it is noted that Eunice Boyce (m. Michael Dunnigan) was from Eng-Ireland.

Daughter, Jennie, married James Carlan/Carolan in 1879 in Ohio. They were cousins. I don't know how close of cousins they were but there is an eye disorder that runs in our family that only shows up when there is a close relations that marries according to the doctors.

Any help is deeply appreciated. I would really like to connect to my Irish roots. Not just because we have Irish names but because there is a real connection to Ireland.

Regards, Anne Marie Carlan-Menard
