Try and get a copy of "A New Genealogical Atlas of Ireland" by Brian Mitchell. A second edition has recently been published. This covers the whole of Ireland.

Paul thanks for your help. Is there a map out there showing the townlands
of Leat begs & Craoghan?

Janice,
Clondavaddog is the greater part of Fanad, the peninsula on the south side
of Lough Swilly.
Leat Begs is a townland in that parish. Croaghan is a townland also in
Clondavoddog but there are also Croaghans in Augnish and Clonleigh Parish.
Augnish centres around Rathmelton the "gateway to Fanad". Clonleigh centres
around Strabane.
Rathmelton to the tip of Fanad is around 20 miles, Strabane is about 30
miles east of Rathmelton. Our ancestors would consider walking around Fanad
to be part of daily life but Strabane is a probably a bit far.

Does anyone know how close these two townlands are to each other?
Croaghan & Leat Begs, Clondavaddog
