Subject: Burgess & Carlay Families in Ballyclogh

Hi Listers,

l am seeking information about Ballyclogh and the Burgess Family who
originated from Ballyclogh.

l believe that my great great Grandfather George Burgess was born in
Ballyclogh approx 1840. He married Hannah Carlay approx 1862. One of their
children, my great grandfather, Edmond Burgess was born in Ballyclogh or
Doneraile on 20.6.1865. He travelled to Australia approx 1890. He married
Margaret Mary O'Reilly on 20.10.1898 at St Patrick's Cathedral, Melbourne
Australia.

l have just returned from a short trip to Ireland where l was able to visit
Ballyclogh, which was a delightful Irish village. It was great to visit the
town my ancestors came from.

l would appreciate any information that fellow listers may have on
Ballyclogh or neighbouring Doneraile an d the Burgess or Carlay Families.
