Ron,

I don't believe that Blind Gate or Summer Cove have ever been townlands. As
you know, I'm sure, they're not in the Townlands Listing nor are they shown
on the Townland Index map for that area. Comparing the Discovery map 87 with
the Townland Index map, it appears that the "settlement" of Summer Cove takes
a bit from the townlands of Ardbrack, Forthill and - perhaps - some of
Knocknapogaree. The Kinsale central area is too cluttered on the Index map
to make any judgment about Blind Gate (based on the location of Blindgate
House on their website's map).
