I sent my mea culpa to Kitty for completely missing the thriving metropolis
of Meelin in Co. Cork, a few miles NNW of Newmarket. As often happens, I
didn't exhaust all of my "sources" and so forged ahead with some bogus alternative
locations. As the town of Meelin is not mentioned in the Townland Listings
or on the seanruad website, it probably evolved after the 1840/50 period. But
it's certainly there now. I'll try to be more attentive in the future <gr>.
