I have been trying for about 20 years to locate the births of the last children of Richard
GOODCHILD and Maria BROWN(E) nee SAGE born in Ireland:
Ada Louisa GOODCHILD born 2 Jul 1871 shows on the LDS Vital Statistics CD as born Queenston, Cork
Robert Percy GOODCHILD born ca 1875
Edwin GOODCHILD born ca 1878
Florence Amy or Ann GOODCHILD born ca 1881

I just obtained a copy of the 1891 census, which shows the children were born in Haulbowline,
Ireland. In 1891 Maria was recorded in the civil parish of St. Paul Deptford, England, and she was
a widow. Richard must have died sometime between 1881 and 1891, supposedly in London, but I have
not turned up a death registration. Perhaps he died in Ireland, where family tradition says he
lived for 17 years.

Richard was born in Sandwich, Kent, England and I have seen his occupation described as Sergeant
Royal Marines in 1848, timekeeper H.M.Dockyards in 1865 and family tradition describes him as an
official at the naval depot in Cork Harbour.

Would their be any records, naval or otherwise, which might help in my search? Any help or
suggestions would be much appreciated.
