Has anyone obtained a Birth Certificate from the General Register Office in
Dublin?
Rick, I have done this--while I was visiting ireland. It is on Joyce Street.
(That info would have saved me about 2 hours of walking downtown on very
cobbled streets). I think the death certificate took me about 15 minutes wait and 7
Euros--about 8 dollars, cash.
Now, doing that by mail, I would recommend you find a company that takes
credit cards and doesn't charge for the currency exchange. AND, it is a good idea
if you have the correct information, townland, name spelling, dates, etc, or
life gets complicated.
