Hi Mary can I ask you a personal question, are you RC or Protestant? This is important because I have a best friend Baker in Toronto. We went to school in
Dublin together, dances and bike riding together in our 20s until she went
to Canada to join her boyfriend and they got married there. She was RC like me
but her father was John Baker from Limerick, Rathkeale I think. There was
some migration from the Palatine in Germany in 1709 brought over by Lord
Sutherland not sure if he name is right, They were emigrants from the war between
France and Germany and English brought them over to Ireland given lands in
Rathkeale, Limerick and some are still there. Baker was one of the names of their
lot. They have a website at www.ISA. com You might try there, some of theirs
were connected to the Pennsylvania Deutsch or Amish. You might check it out.
Of course there were plenty of Bakers in Ireland who were RC as well.

Hello,

Have you seen the John Baker b. 1792 at St Mary Kilkenny Ireland? It does
not give parents. I found this on the familysearch site.
