Subject: [Dublin] My Dublin connections & look up exchange request

My Dublin connection is that my g-g-grandfather, EDWARD BURKE, was
alledgedly born in the parish of St. Paul, Dublin circa 1827. He joined the
army in 1846, and the regiment he joined was involved in the charch of the
light brigade in the Crimean war, but I'm not sure whether he was personally
involved in the action or not. Edwards army discharge papers have him listed
as a tailor before he joined the army. Edward's wife and 1st child were also
born in Ireland but as they weren't from Dublin I won't bother to post their
details. I know its a remote possibility but if anyone has any potential
details of Edward or his family I would be eternally grateful for them.
I have a copy of Shaw's city directory from 1850 that I would be happy to
look up for list members. It can be searched by street or surname. In return
I would appreciate it if sks could consult the 1901 and/or 1911 census for
anyone with the surname SURGUY. Many thanks in advance
Best wishes and happy hunting
Jon Burke
