Hi Karen,

When we were in the Whitegate area, I did ask about MULVIHILLS living in the
area and was given the name of JAMES MULVIHILL and his wife. After calling
for three days, the only one who was at home was their 14 yr. old daughter
and I was never able to talk with her parents. On the MCDERMOTT side, I did
meet with FRANK MCDERMOTT and his wife Mary. Frank couldn't remember anyone
farther back than his grandfather. He seemed to think that the MCDERMOTTS
before his grandfather lived farther north in County Galway in Derrygoolin.

I did meet with a priest from St. Brendan's Catholic Church in Looscaune who
offered to help me. Since I have returned home he has emailed me with no
information on church records but he met a man named Michael Torpey who was
related somehow to the MULVIHILLS. The priest would see him again and see
what he could remember. I've not heard anything for two months.

As close as I can come for a time frame for the MULVIHILLS and MCDERMOTTS in
Ballinakill would be 1817 - 1858.

The MARY MULVIHILL that I am searching for, may have had a sister who married
a ROWAN according to my late mother. I don't know if the marriage took place
in Ireland or in Cincinnati, Ohio.

In the Clonrush Cemetery near Whitegate, I do not recall seeing any
BRODERICKS or ROWANS but that doesn't mean there were none. I was too
focused on MULVIHILLS and MCDERMOTTS to notice any other names.

Thank you for your reply.

Best wishes,
Lynn
