My ancestors also were "landlord assisted emigrants" from the Wandesford Estate. Their names were John Dempsey, Patrick Brennan, William Ryan, Patrick Tierney. They all came from the parish of Castlecomer. I know that Patrick Tierney and William Ryan worked at the "Jarrow Colliery".
They all emigrated to the anthracite coal region in Schuylkill County, Pennsylvania. I've read the books "Fassadinin" and "Castlecomer Connections" and got a wealth of information from them about that area during the time that my ancestors lived there. Any info would be appreciated.
