Hi Sharon
I don't know if this will tie in with your John Dillane, and I'm a long
way from Limerick, but had to tell you that I was brought into this
world (in 1940) by a wonderful and much loved Country Doctor by the name
of Dr. Richard Harvey DILLANE. His practice was in Powassan,
Ont.Canada, a small community about 200 miles north of Toronto, where he
served a large rural area for many years, making house calls by horse
and buggy (sleigh in the winter). His nephew, Dr.Eric Dillane, joined
him in his practice after returning from the 2nd World War. Dr. R. H.,
as he was called, died in about the late 1950's or early 60's, I would
estimate he was born around 1880. Apparently, he lived in Schomberg,
short distance north of Toronto prior to coming north to Powassan.
If you are interested in more info I would be happy to search further .
The name is not common here, this is the only Dillane family I know.
Ann in Ontario, Can.
