Hi Listers,
through a lucky find of shipping records for my ancestor I now know that my
William LANGFORD b 1806,son of Robert came from Castletown Conyere Co
Limerick. His wife was Harriet nee Wade as per her child's christening
record but on the shipping record Harriet's father was named Mervyn
Ryan.(Isuspect her parents never married). They emigrated to Sydney in 1839
with 4 children Charles,Robert,Daniel and Ellen.William was a shoemaker and
farmer.
There are 2 Castletowns in Limerick but I can't find a reference to
'Conyere'.Can SKS help here and also suggest where I look now for marriage
records of William and Harriet and how to trace back for William's birth.(He
was R/C.)
any help or suggestions greatly appreciated.
Sandra Campbell from Sydney
