Can't find anything in canon law about registers except the obligation of
the minister to see that sacraments are recorded promptly and accurately.
Perhaps the person is thinking about simony which is the prohibition of the
sale of religious rites which would not apply here.

Since I work for a Bishop I would agree with Kathy's advice that honey
works better (as it does with most folks). The Bishop makes the rules for
his diocese i.e. he is not really a sort of branch office head with the Pope
as CEO as many folks in and out of the Church think. The thinking is that he
is the person who is best aware of the needs of the local church so rules
differ and their applications in most dioceses even within the same country.

Researching SHEA/FARRELL in Limerick without much luck!
