History is a social science, just like genealogy and geography. For those of you interested in the
history of Ireland,I'm sure you have a library, near you, where you can check out books on that most
interesting and complex subject. And of course, one can purchase books on the Internet.
I am a 30 year family historian. And,I prefer to see genealogy,on a genealogy list. If I want to see
politics debated, then Sunday morning offers me plenty of options.
Here is a historical subject re Ireland. I wonder, when St Oliver of Plunkett was being put to death, did
he speak badly of his captors? Or did,St Thomas of More?
The Ireland that I know was a country of deeply religious people. Some of these threads remind me
of Don Rickles. Or of the Three(or Two) Stooges(I happen to like Rickles and the Stooges)
Or perhaps, they could write a book and become rich and famous like Mr Frank McCourt
