I"m tracing two families of OConnors - one from Kilkenny and the other from Limerick. My great grandfather - Michael OConnor was from Kilkenny and my great grandmothers father - Michael OConnor was from Ardah, Limerick. They were related. Michael born around 1817 came to the United States with three brothers - Patrick, James and John. They settled in Heckscherville, Pennsylvania and worked in the coal mines. Michael was not married when he came to America - He married Ellen Mealy on Sept 20, 1845 in St Patricks Church in Pottsville, Penna. Patrick was married when he came to the US to a Bridget Mealy. Two of their children were born in Ireland. From the pattern of naming Children his fathers name was probably James because all four named their first son James. The mothers name may have been Julia. Any help you can give me in tracing this family would be appreciated.
