Subject: [LIMERICK] CAREY in Garrynacahera

I've recently discovered two entries in a book of gravestone
inscriptions that may relate to my CAREY family. The inscriptions
read:
1) Sacred to the memory of Mrs Thomas MURPHY nee CAREY of Garrynacara
(sic) who died March 7th 1893 aged 80 years.

2) Erected by Johanna and Bridget CAREY of Troy New York (USA) in memory
of their beloved father who died May 9th 1886, also their beloved mother
died Dec 28th 1888. The CAREY'S of Garrancahara (sic)

Does anyone know of this CAREY family from Garrynacahera? The tombs are
in the graveyard of St. Ailbe's in Emly just over the border in
Co.Tipperary. I have checked the records there with no results and was
told by the parish priest , Father Rochford, that the family may have
belonged to a parish in Hospital or nearby. I have an ancestor Patrick
CAREY who married Elizabeth MURPHY in Ireland (unknown county) and
emigrated first to Canada abt 1832 and eventually settled in Troy NY.
I'm hoping perhaps there is some connection.
Thanks very much for taking the time to read this.
Lynn
